In 1880 the foundations are laid for one of the worlds most important haircosmetic companies.
During the days of the German Empire Franz Ströher, a well-travelled 26-year-old hairdresser, starts up a small family business to make toupees, plaits and hair pieces from real hair.
In 1900 he comes up with a revolutionary invention, the Tüllemoid waterproof. This waterproof artificial tulle keeps the wig securely in place. The unlikely wig accessory is a sensation and becomes the Wella founders first best seller.
